Joe Pantalone's Voting Record:

Joe Pantalone is one of the longest serving and most effective councillors on City Council. Although he got 73% of his campaign donations from business in 2000, his voting record was one of the best on the last council. Pantalone works consistently in his ward and has strong support not only from the Italians and Portuguese in the community but from many other constituencies. However, some are questioning Pantalone's support for the Front Street Extension. One of his strengths is that Pantalone is liked by almost all of the other councillors, an important quality in a divided council, but his greatest quality is that others consistently underestimate his ability. His quick mind and knowledge of procedures gives him an edge in the rough and tumble of politics at City Hall. David Miller chose Pantalone to be one of the Deputy Mayors responsible for managing the council agenda.

Joe Pantalone is one of three Deputy Mayors. He is also the chair of the Striking Committee and is on the Policy and Finance Committee and the Toronto Economic Development Corporation Board.

Located between Dupont, Dovercourt, Bathurst and the waterfront, Ward 19 encompasses diverse neighbourhoods such as Little Italy, West Queen West, Little Korea, and new condo developments along King Street West. The ward includes large populations of Portuguese, Chinese and Italian residents.
