Howard Moscoe's Voting Record:Votes supporting the community position: 4Votes against the community position: 1
Howard Moscoe is one of the most conspicuous of all of the city councillors, with a big mouth that always attracts attention. Moscoe is a New Democrat but does not always follow other left wing councillors. For example, Moscoe was one of the most vocal opponents to election finance reforms, particularly a ban on corporate and union donations. Moscoe was an early and consistent supporter of David Miller for mayor and can be expected to wield influence in this council. He has been named chair of the TTC, one of the most important positions on council. He will play a key role in improving transit if the higher levels of government provide the funds. Howard Moscoe is chair of the Toronto Transit Commission and is on the Policy and Finance Committee, the Planning and Transportation Committee and the Exhibition Place Board. Located between the 401, Eglinton, Caledonia and Bathurst, Ward 15 is home to Italian, Jewish and Portuguese communities. About 55% of residents are renters, and 54% live in apartment buildings. |
